ABOUT US
The Crystal Lee Foundation exist to support young people (aged 13 to 24) who are faced with a cancer diagnosis, and their families. We provide specialised bereavement and end-of-life counselling; practical support; community awareness building and memory making projects and activities.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Crystal Lee Foundation was established in 2019. The service aims to enhance quality of life by providing specialist, Bereavement care and practical support for people in the South West of Victoria, Support is also offered to families and carers. The position includes the management of Intake and the co-ordination of family support volunteers.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Working within the Intake and Support Program, the appointee will ensure that all clients and carers assessed as benefiting will have access to the Crystal Lee Foundation Support and Bereavement Services.
Provide assessment of the support and counselling needs of the young person, carers, friends and family.
Co-ordinate family support volunteers as required
Maintain client records and meet statistical and other reporting requirements.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential:
Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or Welfare qualification
Demonstrated experience in management of an Intake Service.
Training and experience in managing suicide risk (Or prepared to undertake such training)
Desirable:
Understanding and competence in trauma informed practice
Demonstrated awareness of delivering culturally appropriate bereavement support for CALD clients

Appointments to CLF roles will be subject to the following safety screening checks (as applicable to the role): National Police Check (which includes Proof of Identity Check), Victorian Employee Working with Children Check, Right to Work in Australia and current and valid driver licence. All costs associated with safety checks (except National Police Check) will be at applicants’ expense.
