Seeking Board Director

Role: Non-Executive Board Director, Crystal Lee Foundation


The Crystal Lee Foundation (CLF) is dedicated to supporting young people aged up to 24, along with their families, who are navigating the challenges of a cancer diagnosis.


We are seeking a volunteer Non-Executive Board Director to join the CLF Board


About CLF

CLF is based in South West Victoria, we support young people and their families who are facing the challenges of life following a cancer diagnosis and the additional offering of bereavement counselling. We are focused on three key areas of growth to assist more people, sustainability and providing a sense of community for those it affects.


The Role

Working with your fellow Directors, you will contribute to and oversee the achievement of strategic objectives while remaining accountable for the organisation’s overall performance, you will be required to join and contribute to a Board Committee, which meets virtually every quarter.


Skills Required

As a well-established Board, we are specifically looking for a range of skills to help us deliver an ambitious strategic agenda:


  1. Knowledge/experience in financial accounting, including financial auditing

  2. Knowledge/experience of relevant funding sources including the role of governments, corporates, philanthropic, and other sources


You are also expected to bring:


  • Understanding of corporate governance principles and financial literacy at a senior level

  • Alignment with the role of the organisation and empathy for people affected by a life-threatening diagnosis such as cancer

  • Communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills

  • Capacity to devote time and energy to the role of a Board Director


Location

CLF is a South West Victorian Charity, the role will require attendance at six board meetings in Warrnambool, and four finance and audit committee meetings virtually.
